Care of Heirloom Garments
Wash your fine baby clothes by hand using a mild soap. Rinse well. Hang to dry. Spray the garment with a fine mist of water or a fine misting of spray starch and iron dry using a wool setting. A sleeve board is useful when ironing sleeves and bodices. If baby has a little accident gently rub the spot with a moistened bar of Ivory Soap and then wash as soon as possible. (A repeat of the Ivory Soap and little soaking may be needed. Never use bleach on these clothes). When the garment has been worn for the last time by your baby, wash and dry as above. Do not iron. Wrap it in acid free tissue paper and lay in a drawer or on a closet shelf until needed again.
